The Woodlands at Harvest Hill-Open House

    Wednesday, September 29th, 2010
    October 5, 2010
    5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Lebanon, New Hampshire – On October 5, Alice Peck Day Health Systems will begin a new chapter in its history of serving the community by formally welcoming the first residents of The Woodlands at Harvest Hill. The public is invited to attend an Open House from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with tours of the new independent living development on the Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital campus.

“This is an incredibly exciting day for us,” said Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital President Harry Dorman. “The Woodlands represents a vital next step in our commitment to serve the evolving needs of seniors in our community. When we opened Harvest Hill in 1996, we strove to set a new standard for quality of care, services, and lifestyle. With the Woodlands we’re taking one more giant step forward.”

The first residents began moving in to the Woodlands over the summer. Currently over half of the spacious apartments are occupied, with some still available to new residents.

“What amazes us every day about moving into the Woodlands are from the small details to the truly important things such as the food, the support from the staff, and the camaraderie of our new neighbors constantly exceed our lofty expectations,” said former Hanover resident Robert Norman, who moved into the Woodlands with his wife Nita.

“As we were planning it I knew the Woodlands would be different from every other independent living development in this area, but I didn’t fully realize how different it would be until we opened,” said Rolande “Ron” Andrews, the administrator for the Woodlands. “On a nuts-and-bolts level, amenities like our indoor pool and the “all-under-one-roof” collection of activities and communal spaces make this place unique, but what has most impressed me is the enthusiasm of the new residents who are forming the community in their image. It reminds me of when my daughter started college, and how excited she was to meet and get know the people who would be become her family and closest friends in one of the most important chapters of her life. It’s been great to see these amazing people meet each other and come together to form The Woodlands.”
