The individual in this position is responsible for assisting the manager with achieving and/or exceeding the stores sales plan while insuring profitable store operations and superior customer service.

Proven sales background , retail management experience, supervisory, basic math and accounting skills are all important for this position. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and move easily. Must enjoy the challenge of making customers happy and have a passion for excellent chocolate.

Help Wanted: Exhibition Manager

AVA Gallery and Art Center (AVA/Alliance for the Visual Arts) seeks a full-time Exhibition Manager. The ability to develop and sustain innovative arts exhibitions for all ages and interests is paramount. The position requires a high degree of planning and interpersonal skills, along with knowledge of artwork handling, gallery art and lighting set-ups, as well as art and labeling materials. Strong verbal and written skills are needed, as is the ability to recruit and collaborate with diverse constituencies: including artists, students, members and donors, as well as with school, community, and business organizations.

A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Blackbaud e-Tapestry, and SlideRoom software platforms is essential. A background in art, art history and/or arts administration is preferable; as is an understanding of nonprofit arts management; as well as AVA’s commitment to inclusive accessibility and sustainable environmental practices. Participation in frequent evening and weekend events and receptions is expected.
