THE MISSION OF THE LEBANON AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IS:

“To advance economic vitality by providing advocacy, information, and services to our members and the UpperValley.”

Dear Lebanon Area Visitor,

The Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce’s home territory is in the heart of the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont. These two states are sometimes referred to as “the Twin States” (VT looks like an upside down NH…or vice versa). In the middle of these two states sits the “Crossroads of New England,” the Lebanon Area. Two major interstate highways (I-89 and I-91) intersect here, as do many older roads like Route 4, Route 10, Route 12A and Route 120 for those traveling here by car. There is also a train service, bus service and a fantastic municipal airport. Getting here is easy and once you are here, we think you will want to stay. The Upper Valley is known for its natural beauty, small town charm and its vibrant and diverse local economy.

Our largest employer and anchor for the region is Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC). New Hampshire’s only academic medical center is home to the world-renowned Norris Cotton Cancer Center, the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD) and Dartmouth College’s Geisel School of Medicine. The impact of the hospital and the college are significant, employing thousands of people. Our region is also home to some world class businesses, including many that can trace their lineage back to the hospital and/or the college. There are plenty of shopping and dining options, from large national chains to small locally owned establishments. Residents send their children to excellent schools, from hands-on training at Hartford Area Career and Technical Center to college preparation at public and private schools. Adult education is affordable and convenient for area residents, creating a strong and capable workforce.

Lebanon was recently named one of the 100 Best Small Towns in America to live by Livability.com. With a myriad of recreational options that vary by the season, the Lebanon area offers more than just great career opportunities. Hikers, skiers and bikers use the local Rail Trail, even journeying from town to town without stepping on a single road, and camping and swimming are popular in summer. Our vital arts scene incorporates visual art, creative arts, theater and music. We are home to the fabulous Lebanon Opera House that hosts many big-time talents as well as an active opera company, multiple theatrical groups, a ballet and many local performers and bands.

Most importantly, the Lebanon Area is nestled in the most beautiful natural setting you could ask for. Whether it is the blazing fall foliage, twinkling holiday lights in new fallen snow, blooming spring flowers or a breezy green meadow in the summer sun, you will always be in awe of the natural beauty that abounds in this area. I invite you to see for yourself all we have to offer. Please let me know if there is anything that the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce can do for you.

Happy and safe travels!
