Faith & Worship
New Englanders are known for their fierce dedication to faith and family. No less than five churches are located within a five-minute walk of Colburn Park, Lebanon’s geographic center. An even greater range of spiritual diversity can be found within a 15-mile radius of the city.
Downtown Lebanon is home to the United Methodist Church, The First Baptist Church of Lebanon, The First Congregational Church, Sacred Heart Church (Catholic), and the Riverbank Church (nondenominational).
Elsewhere in Lebanon, houses of worship include Calvary Independent Baptist Church, Olivet Baptist Church, River Valley Community Church (southern Baptist), All Nations Presbyterian Church, Lebanon Assembly of God, The New Beginning Church of God, and others.
Religious faiths with a presence in the Upper Valley also include Unitarian Universalist, Christian Scientist, Episcopal, Lutheran, Full Gospel, Jewish, and Buddhist. Families wishing to pursue religious education will find many options at local churches. A complete pre-K through 12 Christian education is offered at Mid Vermont Christian School in Quechee, Vermont.
